MSE Hosted Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) Meeting
The Materials Science and Engineering Department, KFUPM hosted the meeting with the Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) which was attended by the CEO of NEOM Mr. Nadhmi Al Nasr. The meeting was attended by the Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. @Mesfer AlZahrani, the Dean of the College of Chemicals and Materials-KFUPM and Materials college Dr. Mamdouh A. Al-Harthi, Dr. Abduljabar Alsayoud, Dr. Atif Alzahrani, and Dr. Qasem Drmosh.
The Chairman of the MSE department Dr. Turki Baroud presented an overview of the academic programs, research, and high-impact practices in the MSE department. Also, Dr. Turki Baroud shared the department’s efforts in understanding and accommodating the local industry needs in the student's journey.
Mr. Nadhmi Al Nasr applauded the department for their exceptional efforts in developing the first and only bachelor's degree in materials science and engineering. Many exciting projects in NEOM will rely on new materials, thus materials are at the core of their focus.
Also, the MSE chairman and faculty discussed with the founding President of NEOM university Dr. Andreas Cangellaris, and Dr. Donal Bradley (the Executive Director, ERI Foundation and VP of Research & Innovation NEOM U) ways of collaboration between the department and different activities at NEOM.
The journey of the MSE department with NEOM just started and yet more is to be done with an ambitious and unique project in the world.
